Reporting to the Vice-Chancellor, Julie provides executive leadership to a portfolio of 4 directorates and works closely with the SDVC, the URS and the Executive Deans. Her key responsibilities include:
- Executive Leadership of the Directorates of Finance, Human Resources, Estates & Facilities and Technology & Information Services
- Attendance at Finance Committee, Audit Committee and the Board of Governors
- Leadership of specific projects of strategic importance to the University including Subsidiary Review and Pensions Review
- Co-sponsor of the Professional Services Transformation Programme
- Chair of major capital project boards
Julie is a qualified accountant and fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. Prior to Joining ²ÝùÊÓƵ in September 2024, Julie was Director of Finance at the University of Southampton where she ran the Finance, Planning & Analytics department and before that had a 15-year career in financial services. Whilst at Southampton, Julie successfully delivered a £300m public bond and implemented an investment strategy which aligned to the environmental sustainability goals of the institution. Outside of work Julie is a keen writer, having completed her Masters in Creative Writing from The Open University in 2018.
